Added Exhaust Deflector

As I was out and about, I saw an RV that had a deflector attached above their RV engine exhaust. The exhaust is not straight on my 270 so I was unable to have 1 continuous device so I split it in 2.

it should assist in reducing the heat transferred to the floor & refrigerator that are above and the water compartment.

270s,
That looks good, do you have room to run a nut down the u bolt then install the heat shield, then another nut? That would give room between the heat shield and the exhaust pipe for air circulation and less heat transfer to the rig?

Would be a good idea but in reality the air circulating around the plate that isn't in contact with the exhaust pipe is removing a lot of heat as it is. What little heat is coming from the top of the clamp is negligible. Remember, the saddle part of the clamp is holding the plate at least 1/2 inch off the pipe the rest of the length. The space wold help but looks pretty good as it is.

Sorry it looked like the plate was laying on top of the pipe.

On second look it just might be touching. I assumed the OP used an exhaust pipe clamp which usually has a contoured bridge that the nuts work against to clamp. Either way I'm betting this does a great job of keeping radiant heat from warming up things he doesn't want warm.
