antenna booster fuse

I have a 2007 373 Georgetown
when I do a channel search, I raise the antenna,
I push the antenna booster button and the red light comes on,
so far so good, When the search is done I still have no channels
It use to work, but not now.
is there a hidden fuse that I could check?
It works with cable TV but notwith the antenna
I give-up.

thanks in advance for any help

Are you sure the cable is connected to the antenna on the roof?

YES and YES

That was what I thought too,
I went up on the roof
unconnected the cable, cleaned it
sprayed WD on it and re connected.

I also have it search in air mode not cable
as i have been for the last few years that i've owned it

Still no TV stations
The funny thing is that it used to get a few stations with the antenna down
now I can't get any.
.....somethings up!!!

Maybe the over-the-air tuner in the television shot craps.

Are you in the same area where you use to get channels? If yes, then troubleshoot your coax. It would be easy if you had a remote checker, but a multimeter will also work. Connect one end to the coax on the roof and the other to the coax on the TV.

How does your coach switch between cable and antenna? You must have an automatic or manual switch

one more shot from me ! disconnect the cable from the box with the power lite on it, if you are in an area with any signal at all the cable will act as an antenna and you will know it is from the box to the roof top. also make sure the cable has the center wire, that it somehow broke off or isnt quite long enough. good luck, I'm out of ideas w/o being there.

Could be the amplifier in the antenna is gone, also the wall plate has a few electronics mounted on it. Maybe contact Winnegard customer service for help to troubleshoot. I've seen written directions, maybe on their website. Good time to convert to a "Jack" system also if yours is beyond repair.

Check the voltage at the end of the coax where it screws to the antenna on the roof. Turn the amplifier off when you disconnect the coax at the antenna to prevent a possible short circuit. Then turn it back on and carefully check for +12VDC at the end of the coax (center wire and screw connector on the coax). If you have 12 volts then consider the amplifier in the antenna is Kaput. If you don't have 12 volts then check the wall power supply but if you have a light it is probably OK. Then the only other possible problem is bad coax.
Google a winegard senstar antenna manual for trouble shooting tips. If you don't have a winegard antenna makes no difference in checking it out.
Last problem, like where I camped a week ago at South Toledo Bend State Park in Louisiana, 0 over the air reception, no bars on Verizon. We broke out the DVD.

You sprayed inside the coax plugs at the antenna with WD40?

WD40 is non-conductive so a short is not possible.

You are correct sir. It is an insulator and that means that an open circuit is possible. Wasn't thinking about a short circuit.

WD stands for water displacement and the 40 is to denote that was the 40th attempt at a formula that would work. It was developed for outer space use. It technically is not a lubricant although WD-40 does make other products at do lubricate but rather a rust preventer.
The purpose was to push water out and replace it with a secret formula of liquid to make it non conductive.

The way I look at it is that there is enough metal to metal contact on the center conductor and it would take more than WD40 to insulate it.

so, there are no fuse to check on this TV booster?
We all think its the wire or box that has the on off light (that works)

Thanks for all the ideas of what to check,
before I bring it to the RV repair place and suffer all the over priced and incompetent service I’ve come to expect.
I'm gonna have to look for a different repair shop.
I would be surprised if it was something easy and quick to fix.
Wish me luck!!
