BEST reason to replace your 300 toilet

So this post is all about the sins of the dometic 300 toilet and my upgrade to the 310.

My original 300 was completely failing at keeping the tank stench out of the coach. We would even drive with the bathroom roof vent open and fan running to try and prevent the odor from hitting us all the way up at the front seats.

I finally replaced the old 300 and it’s known design flaw with seals for a new 310.
So far this seems to be solving the odor problem. Woo hoo!

But there are other reasons I’m glad to have made the change. These include the slow close lid (no more unexpectedly than asking up from the BANG of the seat/lid closing in the middle of the night when a kid goes in and drops the lid). Another night relief is nearly silent flushing (both great in the bunkhouse model where the bunks are directly opposite the bathroom). I also like that it slowly autofills with an inch or so of water after a flush
The toilet also seems to flush more cleanly.... not sure if that’s due to the ceramic (vs plastic) bowl, it’s different shape, or different jets, but it’s a welcome improvement.

But my FAVORITE benefit of the upgrade may only matter to those of us who stand to pee.

I don’t know about anyone else, but no matter what I did, how I stood, or how much water I put in the bowl, I would ALWAYS end up with pee splatter on my legs whenever using the 300. That disgusting feature has now disappeared with the 310.

So for those of you tired of wet shins in the middle of the night....go ahead and make the investment. It’s worth it. :-)

Yep, to all of the above, one of the best upgrades I've installed.

OK, I'm sold. Will order tomorrow.

The clincher was the "no more wet shins in the middle of the night" part.[emoji23][emoji41]

2X for all of those reasons... though I didn't really have an issue with the 300.

Ours works fine.

It took a few trips to get used to the seat squeaking but that never woke up the DW.

Amen to the 310 over the 300. The BEST decision for us was to change. In addition to a faulty/crappy flush valve, every time you sat on the toilet the squeaks could be heard 2 TT over. There was no secret to anyone what you were doing. The 310 is perfect so far.

X2 on all the above with one exception. I would opt for the 320 if you have the room. We upgraded to the 320 because it is an oval bowl which is more like our toilet at home. Very comfortable. DW loves it better than the 300.

Look at the 320 if it will fit. Elongated bowl with a residential type rim. Love ours!

Funny I just saw this because I just bought a 320 to replace my 300 last week. Smell was bad and so was the squeaking every time I sat on it. DW pushed the seal down twice trying to clean the plastic bowl so I also got the sprayer. I am installing it this week.

We love our 320.

We changed out our 300 a week after we purchased our FR3. We hated the squeak every time someone sat on the 300.

Very good upgrade. First time wife used it she could not believe the difference. Not nearly as much crap sticking to the bowl, no more smell. Much more comfortable fit.

After reading a post a few months ago regarding bidets, I may get a bidet attachment for the motorhome. Put one in the house and although it takes a bit of getting used to I do find it kind of weird but useful. Millions of Europeans figured it out long time ago.

After our first trip with our new GT3 we notice a smell coming from our Dometic model 300 toilet. I quickly found the problem that was identified in the Forest River form. I called Dometic and was offer a free replacement with another model 300 or for $75.00 they would ship us an upgraded model 310. We decided to take advantage of the upgrade and receive the new toilet within a week of the call. I installed the new toilet and I must say that I am impressed with it. I think we made the right choice.

Does anyone know if you can adjust the flush valve to add water to the bowl while partially pressing down on the flush lever? Yes the 310 and if you have room the 320 are far superior to the 300.
