Can I run my oven while driving MH?

My son and his friends just took our 350TS for the weekend. They wanted to make pizzas in the oven while driving but it wouldn’t work. Does the wind from driving cause the oven to not work while driving?

what do you mean by 'wouldn't work'?
Do you mean they could not get it to light?
or once lit and heating, would go off while driving?

Clarify the exact problem.

The oven should work while driving. It does not have an outside vent. You may have air in the propane line.

right, motorhomes and their appliances and devices are designed to work, period.. it doesn't care if you're driving it.
(with the exception of some ClassAs with front mounted TVs disabled by the ignition)

Since they sound like inexperienced RVers, my guess is that they don't know how RV ovens work.
Nearly all require lighting the pilot light first.

Agreed.
And if they possibly thought turning the burner sparker would also light the oven pilot light, it won't on almost all ovens. Some of the newest Lippert ovens do have this feature though.

And pray tell why would you want the oven lit and trying to do a Pizza while driving. These ovens are not the best in the world to bake with and to me would be a hazard if not watching. Later RJD

It's a motorhome. Oven doesn't have a timer. Why wouldn't they be watching?

Staroske, no, driving should not have an effect. We have cooked chicken pot pies while driving in ours.

Haha...I’m thinking that they didn’t light the pilot light. I might have accidentally forgotten to tell them that 😉

Holy Cow, I totally agree. I am sure that would not be something the manufacturer recommends. It's Pizza...for Pete's sake stop at a Pizza Hut along the way!

if you're not comfortable with the thought of doing 'something' while traveling in your motorhome, then don't do it. Some will have no problems, and will do what they are comfortable with, all while traveling.
In either case, your motorhome or appliances don't care either way.

Pizza in the oven so it's ready when you get to your destination.

Brilliant!

Dang I'm hungry just thinking about it

For pete's sake, it's a MOTORHOME not an RV (trailer etc.) such as you and the quoted have. Just about anything one can do stationary in a motorhome can also be done while underway and that includes using the appliances (microwave/stove/oven etc.) for their intended purpose. If something needs AC power start the genny and go for it. Don't see an issue.

Sounds like an accident waiting for a time or a place to happen. Truck 'em safely.

I think its a brilliant idea and plan.. Sounds like there is more than one occupant, so I wouldnt see a problem! I'd do it if I had that kind of setup!

A friend of mine recently switched from their travel trailer to a motorhome.

They used to do 300-400 miles when they wanted. Ever since they got the motorhome, he can never go more than 100-200. Know why?

Now the aroma from the crock pot bubbling away in the sink makes him too hungry to drive any further.
