Check Guages Beeping ALL Night

Hi Everyone,

We were overnighting it last night in our 378 GT and in the middle of the night we heard this beeping. The "odometer" or at least the little digital screen where the milage reading is, kept flashing CHECK GUAGES and beeped. It didnt do it all day and kept it up thru the night.

Anyone know what this is and what I need to do to fix it. Ruined my whole night.

Thanks

Peter

I suspect that because the beeping and the "CHECK GUAGES" is part of the FORD dash, it may be a FORD problem and not a Gerogetown issue, but who knows?

Did the "CHECK GUAGES" and beeping stop when you started up the engine?

You might try to isolate the FORD and the RV part by turning off the battery switch at the door and see if that helps.

Let us know and good luck.

It's an onboard computer and they can crash on occasion. The troubling part is where did the power source come from?
I'd be in touch with you'd Ford truck center, something' not right here.

Are the battery voltages OK? (Engine starting battery and house batteries)
You don't happen to have the key in the ignition do you?

It's been a few days since your original posting about the "Beeping" problem.

Just wondering if it's still happening? If it does happen again, your might try turning the key to accessory position to stop it, or actually start the engine, then turn it off to see if it resets. After all this, if it still happens, I'd be booking an appointment with a FORD dealership that is familiar with the F53 chassis as opposed to dealing with an RV dealer.

Let us know.

Thanks for all the help, I will definitely keep all of you updated. I will not be back in RV for a few weeks so it will have to wait till then. According to ford, the dash should have no power with the key off. I am just wondering if the radio power (the rv has a switch to turn radio on, next to dash fan switch etc) and maybe that is feeding the dash. I will have to check to make sure that is off as well. Cant think of any other way dash would have power to it when key is off.

Thanks
