364TS mod.s/upgrades

Here's the last of my wood mod.s the Bluray shelf over the TV. I put one of those one to three plugs in the outlet in the deadspace behind the TV to plug in the bluray and the clock, and also attache an extension cord that wraps around and hangs to the right for storage, unwraps for use, typically a small fan or electric heater.

Wow, great ideas, and really clean work. Blends right in. I am scheduled to pick up my 364TS next Saturday March 5th. Can't wait to tackle of few of these projects. Thanks for figuring out how to post pics. You've really got my creative mind buzzing.......

Thanks, Guess we need to start a tread to post pics of our mod.s for the 364TS. I would be very interested to see what others are doing. We have done quite a bit with several trips to IKEA, and in an effort to make some things more functional. Such as removing the bathroom door in the bedroom and hanging up a curtain - so we can use it while sleeping over at a rest stop or truckstop without having to run the slides out. We also ended up taking the door off the front shower and putting in a shower curtain liner - you'd be amazed at how much easier it is to get in and out as well as have a little more elbow room for drying off. My wife is 4'11" so cranking open the vent fans required her moving a stool around each time, so I replaced the stock vent fans in both bathrooms with the fancy Fan-tastic vents with the remotes, she was very happy about that. Many other things as well...

How did you attach the shelves by the bed to the wall?

Aquaman, Looks great. Did you use any special type of hinge? I guess I'm curious about the TV clearance when the door is open. I have already replaced the home made hooky TV mount that came standard with one that locks the TV on but can flip a tab to unlock and lift off the TV. So may put my TV a bit closer to the unit than what was on it. Did the wall panel just pop out with the staples everything else seems to be put together with? How did you remove that part?

Melvinson404, I used screws, maybe 1 1/2" long so that about an inch went into the wall. For the back shelf and shelf over the TV I used some curtain rod brackets from IKEA, they came with some trim pieces that slid over the bracket, and a good price at somewhere around $2-2.50 each.

Oh, I didn't realize you could just screw directly into the slide wall. I have no idea how these things are constructed. I'm good with the areas I know are wood but I'm guessing you can't just bust out the stud finder for RV walls, lol. I'm going to have LOTS of questions for my sales rep on pickup day.....

I used a piano hinge and ran the full length of door. Yes, the panel is stapled on from the back. I used the palm of my hand and just started giving it a whack and worked my way around. My TV was bolted to a piece of plywood, then screwed to the panel. The panel is composed of plywood and a paneling front. I cut both down to fit the opening and used it for the door.

Your computer table is just the thing we've been looking for. Can you tell us what type of wood you used, what type of finish and where you found those great looking cupholders.

I'm interested in what stain you used. That appears to be a good match!

Cup holder inserts came from Veada.com Model BR101, $3.25 each plus shipping.
Table mount had to call Springfield Marine (hardest thing to find), ordered from - cascadedepot.com Stowable Table Mount E-Coated sku 3660004, $10.49 each plus shipping.
Wood for Mushroom driving table is a 24" round piece of pine from Lowe's, I think 1 1/4" thick or thereabouts, placed the cupholders about an inch in from the edge and made a pattern with some paper of the piece to trim off each side, wide enough to hold the organizer we found to use, secure it by a command velcro strip, cut with a jig saw and routered the edge to give it the curve of the original edge.
Wood for worktable is the glued edge Pine 24"x48", probably 3/4" thick so to stiffen it up and try to keep it from cracking at the glue joints I cut a piece of scrap plywood maybe 1/2" thick about 16" x 36" centered under tabletop, glued & screwed. Only cuts were rounding corners.
Stain is from Lowe's, I took in one of the small drawers to match it and ended up with Cabot Premium wood finish stain + sealer, Satin clear base 8350, on the label from the custom mix says Cinnamon Toast and I assume the bar code on the sticker has it all coded - 2239-B-2150322161151.
Used the same cupholder inserts for the bedroom side tables, all wood in bedroom was oak.
Hope this helps.

Aquaman, great idea just cutting down the panel that's already there for a door. I'm thinking the way I have the shelf mounted I can leave it as is and it won't impede the TV door swinging open.

Cupholder for DW 364TS

In case anyone is still looking for a good cup holder, these are the best I've found: http://www.ultimatecupholders.com/fischercupholder.html

Our 351DS came with those folding kind from camping world and those little flimsy arms work better as a cup dumper than a cup holder. I've not only replaced them, but added two extras. The fisher cup holders can be mounted on a vertical or horizontal surface and will hold anything from a soda can to a Yeti tumbler to a camelbak water bottle without flinching.

Thanks, David. That looks like a fantastic upgrade from the more flimsy options. I don't have a Yeti cup yet but maybe someone will buy one for me soon (just in case DW might be watching) 😊
