External Propane Quick Connect
2018 24W3 Georgetown
I finally bought a a quick connect hose for propane so I would not have to keep buying those disposable propane bottles for my camp grill.
But, no joy!! The tank is full but no propane comes thru the line.
Any suggestions please.
Thanks, Max

Does your grill have its own regulator? If so, no joy -- because that means your propane is being double regulated which does not provide enough flow/pressure (I know that will cause arguers to argue). I removed my grill's regulator and replaced it with a short propane pigtail.
If you'll respond with the brand/model of your grill, someone will explain how to alter it.

Thanks, but my problem is the hose does not depress the 2nd safety inside the guick connect female fitting on the motorhome. I could get propane to come out when once I opened the valve but also had to depress the tire valve type plunger inside. My hose was hollow. I was able to return it to Amazon no problem

I used this site to order an 18" pigtail to replace my grill's regulator and a 12' hose to go from my quick connect to my new pigtail. https://tejassmokers.com/

This is the hose that I use. When camping a week or more, I always took a 20 pounder BBQ tank. A couple of years ago I started to leave the 20 pounder at home. I had two 30pounder tanks on the tongue of the camper and it took a minute to pull one off and take it over to where I was grilling. When done, I put the tank back on the tongue. I left the regulator on the grill. https://www.amazon.com/DOZYANT-Conve...d_i=7787980011

This may seem crazy but did you turn the little lever above the disconnect? I did not see it on mine the first time after finally finding a disconnect that was the right size. I also took regulator off Campmaster Grill from Cabella’s I think my wife got it there. But a little lever you have to look for. I am probably the only one that made that mistake!

I doubt you are the only one.
That little lever does TWO things... it opens/closes the gas flow but when in the ON position, there is a little tab on the lever that interacts with the quick coupler sleeve to keep it from being uncoupled when gas could be flowing.
There are several different designs of levers but this will give you an idea...

I've read that there are two different types of quick-connects. You can't intermix. Finding the details and fittings on the internet was pretty easy.

Hose
The hose that NXR listed in post #13 is what I have been using. It is an exact fit and is very quick to hook up.
