Farewell to My Georgetown

After kicking around the idea for a couple of years, my DW and I finally made the move yesterday and traded in our Georgetown for a 2014 Sport Coach Cross Country 360DL DP.

The decision was tough to make because the GT has served us well and we have a ton of great great memories with it. However, the wear was starting to show and we felt now was the time to make a move with it why it still looks good.

The Sport Coach is an entry level DP, but with half the mileage of our GT and less wear and tear we couldn't refuse the deal our dealer offered us, both on the purchase price and the trade in value.

Although I'll be leaving the Georgetown community, SC or Coachman is still a Forest River product line so I'll still be on the FRF chiming in with my two cents worth as I have been since 2012.

Thanks to all who helped me with issues common to GT's, like hot water tank bracing, steps, hot water tank electric switches and countless more "help" threads.

Best of luck with your upgrade

Farewell Sheman12.

Don’t be a stranger over here. Your experience with a Georgetown could still be invaluable.

We might upgrade someday...as soon as my lottery numbers come up.

Same thing I did. I had a 2015 GT for three years. Had lots of fun with it with our three teenagers. But, it suffered with three big, well-known problems: lack of power, terrible steering (I put almost $5K into front end with only moderate improvement), and finally, the screaming engine noise as it often went up to 5,000 rpm on downshifts even during medium accelerations or on most hills. We love our new DP! Regardless of whether you have a 450hp tag-axle Newmar or a pop-up, it's your attitude that makes all the difference...someone always has one better than mine no matter what I have. So be content and enjoy your camping experiences!

Thanks guys!

I'll definitely be around. Looking forward to some new camping adventures and getting used to everything diesel.

Hit the road for four nights Memorial Day weekend to Cowenseque Lake COE CG in Tioga, PA.
