Few questions about our 2012 Georgetown 280ds
We just bought this unit and have a few questions, it’s a 2012 280ds and this “power adapter” is plugged into the 110 outlet in the cabinet just to the right of the front tv right above the cockpit and I have no clue what it powers and it has this plug that is plugged into
Also I have a leak that appears to be coming from the window over the dinette as seen in the pic here, the side is closed and caulk above window looks good, I ran the slide out and the carpet under the dinette is damp. Any ideas where it could be getting in? Seals look good and it has a slide topper on it.
Next up is the roof.. I’ve heard all Georgetown’s have fiberglass roofs but when I climbed up there today to check on the leak it appears to be a rubber roof? Is there fiberglass under that?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Under the window leak I would suspect the weep holes are plugged clean them out to ensure water flows out and not in

I've never seen a "wall wart" like that one. Is there any writing or other markings on it?

Thanks I will check them, I never thought of that.. I’m guessing I could use a stiff piece of wire to clear them or air?

X2... Clean them regularly... Our 2011 337DS has a fiberglass roof and it still looks like new. Do you have a satellite hook-up ?? That might be power for the dome/dish..!

It's clearly a wall wart that is using 110VAC to supply "probably" 12VDC to something, while allowing you to still have a 110VAC outlet. Of course, it won't supply DC to anything unless you've got 110VAC to the outlet.
I'd power up via shore power and check the voltage on the DC connection. I'm guessing it will be 12VDC. Then try to follow the wires to see what they go to.
When you figure it out, let us all know.

No sir no satellite, and no indication of there ever being a dome of the roof either. There is a small black box in the same cabinet that looks to be some form of switch for the tv, it has one switch that is labeled “air-cable/satellite” and has one coax cable going to it..

Will do. I kinda thought the same thing and was hoping it was for the tv but no suck luck.. I started the gen and checked everything I could see for something that did not have power with that thing unplugged but couldn’t find anything.. the wires appear to run towards the tv but without pulling the cover off that’s behind it I can’t tell for sure and I didn’t have tools with me to get it apart. I’ll do that this weekend!

Does your roof have a rubber coating or is it straight fiberglass? Our sunseeker was fiberglass, it had a slight texture to it and was shiny and felt like what the side walls of the coach were made of! Everything I’ve read say all Georgetown’s have fiberglass..

In my 2012 GT378 that plug with the red and white wires is routed with a coax cable to the roof for installing a satellite antenna. It's part of the satellite prewire. There is a dummy vent cap on the roof above the copilot where they are stowed.

Perfect! Thanks, that must be it then because while I was on the roof I noticed there was two vent caps and I thought that was strange for there to be to vents. Well that’s one thing figured out, thanks again!

Yes, straight fiberglass, looks like FRP (fiberglass reinforced panel) very slippery when wet !!

Ok thank you, ya this doesn’t look like straight fiberglass but more so a rubber material.. I’ve looked and looked and everything I can find says all Georgetown’s have fiberglass but it sure doesn’t look like it it’s completely smooth no texture at all so I guess I’ll pull on of the roof vent trim rings off and see if I can see rubber material folded under there.

That power thing is supposed to shut down the TV when in drive. So no watching TV on the road.. Just remove it.

If it is an AC feed thru with a 12volt rectifier output that connects to a cable where the other end of that cable terminates in the roof, how does that happen?

Pretty certain it just applies power to the relay when into drive with cuts the AC power.

Tv is a 120v unit and it works while driving as long as the generator is running or I have it plugged into a small inverter that I have.

Units that have an overhead TV that do not turn on when the engine is running typically do not have an adapter that plugs in to a wall socket. There is a relay located somewhere up front that is controlled directly by the ignition switch interlock. My old Georgieboy was like that but don't know if that safety feature is still part of the norm for overhead TV's. I believe that adapter is for a single point power plug in for a 120 volt ac and 12 volt dc satellite receiver and antenna. I'm done.
