Filling With Gas..WTH?

Took the GT from our seasonal site to fill with gas and add StaBil today for the Winter. Filled her up and when the pump 'clicked' off signifying the tank is full, I look down and fuel is running down the side of the RV! Not splashing back from the fill port, but leaking around the bottom of the plastic frame that holds the fuel door. I'm like WTH? I wiped it off but a little more kept leaking.

Anybody had this happen? Didn't have time to investigate today but I will take a look at it next weekend.

I think every once in a long while the auto shutoff on fuel nozzles do not shut off soon enough. I've had it happen but it is rare. I would not fret over it unless it happens the next time you fill up. I bet it was an anomaly....

Mine does that too.... No real worry. It seems to happen more depending on the slope (or lack of one) of the fill station. Just something I've come to accept -- better than having it splash back, which I hate much more.

Mine does that every now and then.....It is just the way the nozzle fits into the filling tube. I just wipe it and put EXTRA wax on that section of the lower RV.

Mine does it also, I listen carefully when it is nearing full and slow down the flow.

Thanks for the replies guys. I will take a closer look this weekend. I was just surprised at the amount of fuel that leaked and ran down the side. Maybe something isn't sealed off properly where the fuel neck housing meets the side of the RV behind the fuel door.
