Ford v 10 loud whine from motor
I was hoping someone on here can advise , while under load climbing steep passes I get a loud whining noise from the engine , almost like a slipping belt.
Has anyone here had the same issue , 2015 Georgetown 378XL
Thank you for any input

Maybe the engine cooling fan clutch?

We just got back after a seven week outing in our RV. It is a FR3 33DS. When we left back in July and headed north through the Sierra's, I noticed the same noise and after a while it gets irritating.
While looking at my oil and transmission fluid levels, I noticed that my coolant reservoir was almost empty. I picked up a gallon of fluid and had to use about 3/4s of the gallon to fill to the "cold" line.
On the return trip, over the last 10 days, I rarely heard the noise and when I did on steep upgrades, I backed off the accelerator and poof, the sound would go away.
Where it was constantly happening (above 3,800 RPM) before I added the coolant, now it hardly occurred and only when I was over 4,300 RPM).
I would say to check your coolant levels first to see if your reservoir is very low or nearly empty.

I can tell you that when my V 10 temperature starts getting up there from climbing steep grades the cooling fan clutch locks up by design and it can be pretty loud. I relate it to an air plane propeller type noise. When locked up the fan is turning close to the same speed as the engine and you can feel a bit of power loss as well.

I had the exact same issue a few years ago (High pitch squealing noise when pulling a steep grade under heavy load).
The Ford mechanic knew exactly how to reproduce the issue. He said they encountered this same squeal before but were never able to correct it. He said there was no sign that any belts are slipping and everything else checks out fine.
As a last resort he has ordered a new valve cover from Ford. It seems the PVC valve is incorporated into the valve cover and the PVC valve may be causing the squeal.
Since that repair I have not encountered the issue.

Thank you all, I really enjoy this forum as everyone seems to help out with questions . so again thank you. I think the pvc valve might be the culprit as prior post stated

I hope you found it.
PVC valve or leaking hose would cause a whistle like sound not a loud whining noise as you said.

No offense, but just to remind you of something from 50 years ago that you may have forgotten; it's. PCV Valve. ( Positive Crankcase Ventilation ). It may, however, be made of PVC ( poly vinyl chloride)!

So think my misspelled acronym you really thought it was talking about PVC.

My first words were, " NO OFFENSE ". And I meant that! If I thought that you really meant 'polyvinylchloride' my response would have reflected that. It is a common mistake that many make, in fact, the two previous responses also referred to it as PVC. So if you made a fat finger slip, maybe everyone did! With that said, I apologize to everyone whose feelings have been hurt because I pointed out an error.

My wife frequently complains of a loud whine from the passenger seat when she's driving and I think she's going too fast again.

If she's going WAY too fast, does that whine change to a whimper?

No, it just gets louder and more shrill.

Take it out of cruse control and use toe haul when climbing long grades.
This may help

As previously stated there is a gear in the transmission that when Tow Haul is selected, over 50mph, throttle held half way down, a gear is selected that will pull most “non mountain state hills” without going into the deafening passing gear of 4000+
