Furnace Thermostat

We have two thermostats, one in the kitchen area and the second in the bedroom. The bedroom only controls the AC/heatpump and not the furnace. Has anyone tried to rewire or modify so that the bedroom thermostat can also turn the furnace on and off.

To clarify, are you wanting to abandon the one in the kitchen to use the one in the bedroom?

If not, I don't think you can use 2 thermostats to control one furnace.

Yes you absolutely can use 2 stats on one thermostat and I would think they would be that way from the factory but may not be.

I just rewired mine on the recommendation of my RV service center. My Dometic control system uses a data cable and multiple circuit boards to daisy chain the heater and the two AC units together with a single controller to control all 3 units. My heater recently had a failure and even thought the service location isolated the fault to a circuit board on the heater itself, they highly recommended I install a 2 wire controller to control the heater separately from the AC units. I did this when I installed the heater last week and the new controller has worked excellent.

I do not want to abandon a thermostat I just want to be able to turn the furnace on from one or the other.
