George vs Berk

Anyone have comments on the difference between the Georgetown and the Berkshire? Is the Berkshire just a Georgetown on a diesel pusher chassis or is it much more?

I am also assuming the George is being powered by a Ford Triton 10 cylinder engine. How does it handle the weight of the RV. Does it seem underpowered?

I like the torque of the diesels, but I am trying to determine if the Triton is enough.

Thanks for any input.

George vs Berk

We purchased a 2013 Georgetown 378 XL
First time motorhome, I don't believe it is under powered.
We tow a 2008Honda CRV with no issues. Can travel 60 MPH up almost any hill. It will down shift some when put under pressure and it can be somewhat loud if the fan clutch engages and it revs to 4500 RPM but I keep it easy.
Certainty not a power house but not looking to go 70 up any hill.
Our previous RV was a fifth wheel pulled by a Duramax. No problem with speed.
The biggest factor in buying a MH was the floor plan. We love it and would buy it again if we did it over.
Now, if money was not an issue I would buy a MH with 500 HP/1200 ft lb of torque engine.
For the money we were able to buy a new unit with plenty of amenities.

We have been very pleased with our buy.

Hope this helps with info on the Georgetowns, no experience on the Bershires.

If you can afford the higher purchase price and operating costs of a DP, I'd go for it. Better ride. Quieter ride. More carrying capacity. More amenities.
