"You probably should start a new thread since this is an entirely different subject.
In short, the Georgetown comes with a 5,000 lb hitch. The XL and GT7 have the 24,000 GVWR chassis with a 30,000 lb GCWR but still has a 5,000 lb hitch. Some smaller Georgetown’s also can tow 6,000 lbs but others, like mine, not so much.
So it depends on your exact model Georgetown and the curb weight of your truck plus any stuff you put in it.
With the Georgetown that has the 6,000 lb towing capacity you will need to have the hitch upgraded to a 7,500 lb hitch if you’re towing something heavy. There is no 6,000 lb hitch so Forest River elected to install the 5,000 lb hitch on everything so people would not think they could tow 7,500 lbs.
Make sense?
Also, please consider clicking on User CP on the green bar at the top left, scrolling down to Edit Signature, and entering your model year and exact model like I did. That will help people give you more accurate answers.
