GT 351DS levelers

I have parked my RV several times now on a nearly level spot. When deploying the hydraulic levelers, there is typically 2 tires 1-2 inches off the ground. When checking with a bubble level, the coach is dead on level. Is it safe if 2 of the tires are off the ground, or do I need to reset/recalibrate the automatic system?

Somebody check my answer.
Back tires off the ground is a NO.
Front off the ground is ok.

Before we did the "Cheep Handling Fix" we usually had all 4 on the ground. After the CHF I had to recalibrated our level point because the fronts were usually off the ground.

If the pad isn't pretty level our front tires are off the ground.
If we're going to be there a while I put leveling blocks under the front.

I always level mine manually instead of using the automatic, that way I can make sure my coach isn't too far off the ground.

If you have the Lippert manual; it says on many pages that you should not lift the tires off the ground.
Like everyone says do it manually and you will be happy.

Do it manually. Also, when you are in Manual mode it will actually tell you (via the arrow LED's) what needs to be adjusted. Once you do hit level, the middle green light will light up.

You will find that you can get level (usually) without your wheels coming off the ground, sometimes barely even taking the load off.

We had this same problem in our 351. When it was last in for service the dealer reset the system for us and now it works better than it ever did. Prior to that I had started using the manual level and the "Dual Level" app on my iPhone to level the coach.

I also carry several treated 2x8's cut to about 12" long to put under wheels or jack pads as necessary to prevent any of the wheels from coming off the ground.

If you absolutely have to, you'd want the front off the ground, not the rear. The rear have the parking brake attached which keeps you from rolling off the side of the mountain.

If the ground is not level it's very likely two wheels will be off the ground. No issue with a couple tires off the ground. What you shouldn't do is use the jacks to lift a tire to change it or climb under the coach as the hydraulic system could fail.

I noticed that too.
I rarely do, but I will lift front wheels a little if needed

I paid for Auto Leveling and I love it. Usually my front tires are off the ground. No biggie as long as the rears are down.
