GT5 rear camera-- mic. has quit working

When in reverse the microphone at the rear camera has a great amount of static and has lost any voice to the radio.

It has worked ok for several years, but I think water has ruined the mic.

I cannot find the brand to look at buying a new one. Is it a Pioneer like the Radio ?

Thanks for any info.

Btm

I know I can have someone yell at me, use a cell phone. or radios, but I like the convince of the mic. working in reverse.

I thinking this is same as our GT5 camera. https://www.carid.com/rear-view-safe...833832#reviews I would verify with the Safety company before you buy one though. There might be a better price for it too. Hope this helps...

I'd ping Nick Hoover or one of the other factory service people. There's no doubt they've changed them over the model years.

Great idea NXR

Nick had Dirk Tackett send me the Camera part number and dealers close to me where I could order the camera.

Part number for rear camera on Georgetown. ( yr 2015 to yr 2021) and probably many other models. 40E17310A

Hello, when you order the camera, can you get more information from the dealer on what brand it is? It's probably a Pioneer, but the only Pioneer I've been able to find doesn't have the microphone. Thanks for anymore info

Googling

"forest river" 40E17310A

it looks like it may be an RVS camera: https://forestriverinc.com/files/Com...t%20Manual.pdf

At least my camera looks the same, right down to the LED arrangement. The Jensen XRV10 display I have takes a standard camera input of 1 volt so any standard camera could be used and I'd guess they're all standard.

From the manufacturer, which includes the monitor: https://www.rearviewsafety.com/safet...770613-hd.html

The manual. Camera specs are on page 19: https://www.rearviewsafety.com/pub/m...s_new_logo.pdf

Depending on what the FR dealer is charging, it may be worth contacting RVS and asking for the cost of a replacement camera.

Amazon is showing one used for $200 with the monitor. https://www.amazon.com/Backup-Monito.../dp/B0742NCW1C

Walmart for $313: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Rear-View...0613/770303327

Whoa, I found just the camera for $163, P/N RVS-770HD https://www.brickhousesecurity.com/c...ty-rvs-770-hd/

Direct from the manufacturer for $180: https://www.rearviewsafety.com/safet...vs-770-hd.html

But...that last one requires that you specify the cable length. This might require some cable splicing unless you can just swap the camera guts unless there's a plug somewhere.

Let the purchasing race begin!
