Heated wet bay?

I have a 2919 Georgetown xl 378ts. We had to take a trip from south Dakota to Florida this past month. On our return home, we experienced z some extreme cold temps. Water froze up on us. Arctic was on, heat on both front and rear furnace.

Does anyone know if there is any furnace heat directed into the wet bay?

Try a search. A similar question was recently asked in the Georgetown forum: https://www.forestriverforums.com/fo...ng-259864.html

Ultimately you’d need to check your own unit and seat if there is heated air flowing in the wet bay.

Yeah. The link to the other thread says it is on the spec sheet, but mine still leaves the forced air heat questionable. I will have to try again better access to the wet bay to see if there is forced air.

Cannot find any reference to forced air heat (spec/options/brochure) for a 2919 Georgetown xl 378ts. But am curious about one thing. The brochure for your rig says the gen is a 7Kw (not 5.5Kw Onan) Onan. Is this correct?

Our 2020 supposedly does so I put the outdoor temperature sensor for the weather station in the bays. No temperature increase at all when the propane furnace was running.

I have never looked to see what generator I have. I will look in the morning.

bduemig,

Are you saying your "wet bay" where you hook up your water and sewer froze? Or the fresh, grey and black tanks froze?

On your rig you do have an "Arctic package". This function turns on your fresh, grey and black tank 12 volt heat blankets. We also have heat tape in the "wet bay" on the elbows before your grey and black valves in the exterior bay. The heat tape also turns on with the Arctic function as well. When you have your furnace on, you will have heat ducts blowing down on your fresh, grey and black tanks. There is no duct from furnace down in the "wet bay". Hope this helps? Safe travels

The Arctic package was on and the tanks were fine. It was the hot and cold lines, water pump and fittings that froze. Water filter is in the bay where the gray and black tanks are. The pump is in the bay with the fresh water.

I don't think any heat is in either bay. When the snow melts and the ground is dry, I will crawl underneath so I can see if there is any way to see if the furnace duct even runs through the area.

Yes, we don't have any heat ducts going to the water pump area. You might get a little heat from the basement ducts if it's close to holding tanks. Keep us posted. Have a great weekend

It looks like a good opportunity for a Georgetown product improvement here. Our Sunseeker Classic has a furnace heat duct directing warmed air into the basement fresh water pump and water filter compartment. I'm surprised the more upscale Georgetown lacks such a feature.

Wet Bay Duct

On our '21 GT5 the wet bay duct comes out on the upper left side in front of the gray tank. It is a smaller diameter than the cabin ducts (2-2 1/2"). Blows hot air when furnace is running.

There's different floor plans. Ours has both the black tank and the gray tank in the wet bay. The fresh tank is in a different compartment along with the water pump. Some have the water pump in the same compartment as the water heater.
