Height of awning

We have new to use a 2015 Georgetown XL 360.
The awning when extended is very high and not I am not able reach it to slant it down and be more useful. I think I can IF I have a ste3p stool or later but I'm thinking that there is an easier way to pull it down so that I can attach clip on lights to the edge. I'm thinking of making a pie with a hook to reach it.
Anyone have an idea?

You may think about something like this. It’ll roll up with awning without an issue.

BougeRV RV Awning Pull Straps, 9.8FT (118 Inches) Upgraded RV Camper*Awning*Parts Pull Down Straps Fits for RV/Travel Trailer/Camper Awning RV Accessories (2 Pack) https://a.co/d/6UXjY5N

Thanks but while that might help the problem is to reach the frame work elbow. The joint where the frame extends out needs to be able to bend and lower the outside edge of the awning.
Problem is, I can't reach the frame elbow to get it to bend and lower.
There is the problem. It's to high to reach.
I will try to get pictures tomorrow when I go and continue the waxing!! UGH!!

One person with electric Solera awnings just hooks his cane around the arm to pull it down.

Only pictures I see of your unit have A&E (Dometic) awnings so can you not collapse the strut and use the locking mechanism to lower (secure) the awning into position just after deployment starts and before full deployment? Don't know if that would help.
