House batteries.
07 Georgetown,powered by ford v-10, going down the highway my alternator should be charging my house batteries?

Charging
My 2019 charges while traveling. I don't know if your 07 does.
I would check battery voltage before traveling and then again after some miles. If you were low to start you should have some increase.

my 2006 34.4 doesn't and never has went it was in shop years ago I asked Tec so NO. He told me there is a option for X amount or money. I said no forget it I just keep my battery tender on when at home and never had a problem.

DC to DC charger
I use a RedArc DC to DC charger. It will get the most out of your alternator to properly charge your batteries. Mine is good for acid batteries or lithium which I have. They come in different amp models such as 25 or 40 etc. Since I have a lot of solar I only have the 25 amp one so as not to overwork the alternator. My battery monitor always shows it pushing at least 25 amps while the engine is running(+ solar). It is a smart charger and will also accept solar also.
i like the Redarc over some other brands as it is small, waterproof and will take extreme heat.

Check voltage
Check the battery voltage when not running and then when running and there should be a noticeable difference.

Yes thy should be charging. Been that way for a long time. If they are not check for blown fuse or popped breaker.

I have owned many MH all of our units have always charged the house batteries when the engine was running.
I would bet your is designed to work the same way but something was missed during the build or something was installed wrong.

Add two more 6 V batteries so now I have a total of 4 6v batteries.
Next thing I need to figure out how many solar panels I need and what size inverter to keep batteries charged .

Converter(not inverter) should be ideally 25% of your total battery bank capacity. 4 6v batteries connected in series/parallel for 12volts will have around 450 amp hours total so converter could be as large as 112 amps.
That said your existing converter could be a 55-60 amp converter and going larger could overload the wiring, both the 120 volt feed and DC output wire to the batteries.
If you change converter plan on doing some wire and breaker upgrades.
The OE converter should work fine especially if you add solar.
There the only limits are space for panels and money.

Yes it should. With the engine off and no shore power, does you starting boost switch work (at least make a clunking noise) On most rigs a bad isolation relay makes the alternator stop charging the house (and other things) not work.
