How does fridge turn on with inverter?

Have a 2015 Georgetown 335ds....first timer.

We have a built in inverter that is supposed to power the fridge.

Aside from just turning on the inverter, is there another step? My fridge doesn't turn on.

First time with a residential fridge.

Hi and welcome Scott.
Yes the invertor need to be on but you also need to make sure the coach batteries are charged and the MAIN battery disconnect switch is ON.
The coach batteries if charged will supply 12 volt DC power to the invertor and the invertor changes the power from 12 volt DC to 120 volt AC power which runs your refrigerator.
Hope this helps you understand the circuit.
Good luck

There is also a gfci outlet on side of the inverter that supplies the ac line. Make sure it's not tripped.

I am with GABoy. Find the GFCI and make sure it is reset. As a rule, this outlet is difficult to find. But find it you must.

Question about GFCI

I am a newbie so I know nothing, but are you guys sure the refrigerator is connected to a GFCI? It is not commonplace in regular homes in Texas, so I'm just asking.

fridge inverter

I have a 2012 Crusader 5th wheel, I am confused on the inverter, how do you turn it on? My fridge seems to run continuously and my electric bill seems very high due to my fridge always running. Am I doing something wrong when I am on electric power, should the fridge be running off the batteries? I am also new to this and any help on this would be helpful to me.

Absolutely positive on my 351 and a other FR owners that I've shown.

Not sure about the fridge running constantly but in another life I worked for an appliance manufacturer and IMO something is amiss. A couple of things:
1. Either the the reefer is leaking refrig air (a bad seal)
or
2. Bad sensor and the compressor is running.

In either case, you are headed for a problem with a worn out compressor.

Positive on 351s

It is a shame that dealers don't make it a point to show this in walk throughs.

So where was the GFCI outlet??
We should start a forum thread for all the locations this GFCI was found.

In our 351DS there is a shutoff valve (pop-up style) in the line that feeds the fridge. Sorry I don't know where this is located in your model, but in our 351 it is in the cabinet below the sink\counter nearest the fridge. I had shut mine off and disconnected the fridge line to drain it during winterization. Perhaps this is the situation with yours as well. Check your cabinets and access panels around the fridge for it, it should be the standard water line with a shut off valve of some type with a step-down to the smaller, standard fridge water line.

Hope that helps.

Tom

It was in an outside compartment and had to be reset.

I have a 2015 GT 351 - in the cabinet next to the sink behind the garbage can is a water supply line to the fridge - it has a shut off on it. check that line to see if it is open.

as for the inverter - battery light at coach door on, inverter button at coach door on - fridge will be on. my GFI is in the bathroom - but don't think the fridge is on that circuit.
