HydroMax Auxilary Brake Booster Pump Issues

I am purchasing a 2012 378XL and have questions about the HydroMax auxiliary brake booster pump that runs all the time when the ignition switch is on and the motor is not running and brake pedal is not depressed. It is also very noisy; much more so that the new 15 and 16 models.
My question is for those members with 2012 F53 chassis or older owners:
Is it normal for the brake auxiliary pump to start running as soon as the ignition is turned on.

Yes it is normal, and loud! A Ford technician told me that the booster pump is a safety feature to ensure that the brakes can function in case the engine shut off.

Thanks for the reply.
Obviously, the new models are different and only activate as needed--not running standby.

It should only run when the ignition is on and the brake pedal is depressed. At least that's how it is on my 2011 378.

Correction! My booster pump does run with the ignition on, without depressing the brake pedal. Sorry for the mis information, ignition must have been on accessory, not ignition when I tested it before.
