I received the definitive
Word on controlling the hvac if the screen breaks.
Per Percision Circuits there is NO way to control the hvac if the touch screen breaks.
A new 7.0 inch touch screen is 547.00 plus shipping.
So now we know for sure!!!!!!

Did you ask why their app does not control HVAC like it does for other models?

Not sure why I need to know that / since it doesn’t work thru the app any reason they give would be meaningless.

Wouldn't their answer tell you why their app does not control HVAC on a Georgetown?
FR didn't want to pay for it, the Atwood's can't accept it (which seems unlikely), etc.

Ok I’ll play along
Ok I’ll play along.
Ray even if your answer or guess is 100% correct how does that change anything?
Bottom line is if my screen breaks FOR ANY REASON I better have a backup handy or expect to spend several days in a motel till the new screen arrives. With motel cost well above 100 bucks a night seems a touch pad is in my plans for spare parts 😂😝

Because there might be a way to add it. I talked to them about adding AGS on temperature to ours because we only have AGS on voltage and they told me what it would cost and what it would involve.

The young digital fans harass me because I favor the old-fashioned, reliable, tried-and-true mechanical thermostats in travel trailers: - "They're not accurate" (Adjust it until it feels good. Forget the number.)
- "They're not precise" (Same response)
- "Cycles too often" (Did you find the hidden anticipator adjustment on the back?)
- "Doesn't cycle enough--gets too hot (or cold) before it cycles. (Same response)
You've just provided another good reason for them.

FR switched to the touchscreen-controlled HVAC system shortly after our 2020.0 was built. I am SO happy we have real thermostats, even if they are electronic.
I can lie in bed, pull the infrared remote out of the cubbyhole next to me, and adjust the fan or temperature without ever getting out from under the covers.
Even if we had app control of the HVAC, the phone would still blind me at night.

God we are getting so lazy! ... It is a pain to have to make an extra trip to the store for an air filter as seen on TV.

Same problem last year. Thankfully my 2017 Forester 2801QS came with two touch screens, small one in BR and larger tablet in LR. I ordered replacement from Lippert at quoted price and got replacement in a couple days. Small unit controlled the AC and everything else until new one arrived. My service plan insurance reimbursed $350 of the cost. Self installed and only lost one day waiting for overnight shipping.

Precession electric control pads
Actually they put the pads in class As back in 2018 as I have one in our Berkshire. The unfortunate thing is we went through three of them. Which at the time they stated they had a design issue. The main station which in our case is under the bed can be accessed and all functions controlled with exception of the AC. After all said and done just another bad design.

There have been at least two touchscreen systems used, the current Precision Plex system and the LCI (Lippert) OneControl system. The Georgetowns got the Precision Plex system as part of the 2019.5 mid-year model update.
And Lippert was sued by ASA Electronics because it was alleged they infringed ASA's patents for a smartphone control system: https://www.southbendtribune.com/sto...rets/43903451/
