Our National General went up from $859 to $903 (6 months) full timer coverage (South Florida domicile) for BOTH our 2014 378 AND our 2015 Prius toad with excellent coverage amounts. We too are staying at this time.

On the 3rd year going thru Good Sam I'm with Nationwide, not General. Guess they funnel to different companies. Cost has gone up about 15%/year. No accidents, no claims, no tickets, just getting older. Should I file an age discrimination suit? After all, I'm getting wiser in my driving.

I think National General prefers older drivers. I told them my wife does not drive the motor home. I asked them how much the premium would drop if I removed her from the policy? They told me the annual rate would increase $291. She is 10 years older than me so it seems that the she saves us money.

How much would the premium increase if you both dropped coverage?

By the time we teach our two dachshunds to drive, we both could be old enough to drop the premium to zero!

My daughter, who works in call center of a major insurance carrier, is constantly having to answer that same question. In the nicest way she can phrase it, she has to constantly tell people "Sorry, but age is a factor in moving you to a higher rate class".
Motor Vehicle Casualty Insurance costs more for teenage boys, and all old people.

I'm with Progressive and my agent told me my big jump was because I turned 76. Hell I seldom drive it because our son does. In fact it has sat in enclosed storage for over a year because we have not home anywhere. It's a 2011 GT 378 with around 20,000 +/- miles. No claims.

Progressive insurance beat everyone else’s insurance price for me. Also have a friend that had some pretty major damage to their coach and progressive had it fixed within a week

I'm trying to decide right now between a few different companies.
Progressive had the best price. Then Foremost (Farmers). And the highest price was National General (Good Sam). They are all a little different in the coverage and deductibles though, so kind of hard to compare.
I was actually just getting ready to go with Progressive when an agent from Good Sam called. I was trying to get a hold of my wife for her DL No. to finish filling out the payment info on the Progressive website when the call came in from Good Sam.
The big difference with Good Sam is they have replacement coverage where the other two companies have it as "ACV" or actual cash value.
So, anybody have any more advice on:
Good Sam (National General)
Foremost Insurance
Progressive

I have progressive. Mine is a 2 year old coach and with my plan progressive will replace it with a brand new coach as long as it is within 5 Model years old. My boss also had progressive and tore the roof off somehow. Progressive has someone out to fix it within a couple days. I can’t speak for any other companies but I can say the progressive app and customer service has been great to me between putting it on storage insurance to bringing it out. It’s been a simple chat on their mobile app or a phone call and boom. Full coverage again.

They increased the yearly premium 35%.
From $557 in 2017 to $756 for 2018
The customer service reason is that it was its yearly company correction.
So did everyone that had a auto policy in the US get a 35% increase also?

Iggy, I just dropped my GoodSam’s insurance (National General) for that same level of increase. I switched to Geico and it is half what my renewal quote from GoodSam’s was.
