Levelers retract only when holding Retract All Jacks

When I hit the Retract All Jacks button yesterday I got nothing, but when I held down on the Retract All Jacks button they finally did retract, although not smoothly. Kind of a thump-thump-thump sound. I engaged the levelers at the next stop and they leveled normally. I'm hoping they'll retract normally too when we need to leave in a couple days. Wondering if this has happened to anyone?

Check the level of fluid. The pump may have started to retract but fluid was low so it may have delayed the pull up.
