Map rules?

Ok..... so we just got one of those U.S. maps with stickers for all the states you’ve visited. What are the “rules” for adding a state. Do you have to just drive through or do you have to do something substantive in the state to earn a sticker? I’m sure opinions will vary, but just curious what folks here do. When DW posted it on the side of the RV she went the “substantive” route and it left some weird holes in the map.
Was amazed to realize we substantively hit 22 states. Would be 26 on the “drive thru” model. Not bad! I don’t get how people don’t use the tar out of these rigs. :-)Click image for larger version

It's up to you. You stated above that "you've visited" so that could be what you want....or you could say "you've camped in" and be equally well too. Whatever makes you happy and goals YOU want for yourself.

On a similar note, you can also add maps like these to your forum signature line here if you wish. This thread details how:

If you are on the full site, you can see an example of this in Mr. Dan's post # 2 above. If you are viewing the site on a mobile app, it doesn't render the siglines.

Thanks.... I tend to use the app. Maybe I should go back to the browser. App definitely feels like an afterthought

We don't have a physical map but we keep track of the states we've visited over the years. Whether we camped there or just flew there on vacation we only count it if we've done some sort of activity there.

West Virginia was by far the most difficult state for us to check off. We were traveling on the east coast and decided to look for something to do there to check that state off our list. Finally settled on visiting Blackwater Falls, which was a 4-hour drive from were we where.

Then a 3-hour drive back to our next stop which was Washington DC.

Map rules?

We stopped counting at 49[emoji2]

We have done 50, but no Hawaii with the RV.
