Cross town to stay at http://www.carefreervresorts.com/rv-...exas/treetops/ while we attend the wedding of a you g girl that was in our church youth group a number of years back. Evening wedding so we figured we'd make a weekend of it in the DFW mid-cities area and not have to drive the hour and a half home after the wedding/reception.
Our campsite is only 5 miles from the wedding site.

Chris, going up to the Nicolet National Forest in Three Lakes, WI. Doing
a little dry camping at Laurel Lake Campground on the largest Chain of Inland
Lakes in the world. (so they say) Hoping to catch a few crappies. Hope you
are leaving early. Memorial Day has the worst traffic of any holiday around
Wisconsin.
See you on Hwy 41 - Bill

We sold our home and will be having a moving sale May 31, June 1st. Therefore, we'll be in our camper at a campground 10 miles from here for Memorial Day weekend. The good news is, we'll be on Lake LBJ! Ya gotta admit, this is unique.

Well, we made it to Lake Isabella, and found that there had been constant 30 MPH winds with gusts to 60 for the last week and a half! No mention at all on the Weather Channel site!
We got the boat out of storage, but didn't even launch. Talked to a couple of folks who'd been out, and they said it beat them almost to death.
We enjoyed sitting around in the RV's, taking turns cooking, playing games, and watching the races.
It was a white-knuckle trip all the way home, as wind had come up in our valley as well.
When we got home, it took ten minutes to uncurl my fingers enough to hold a beer.

I admit to being geographically challenged. Where the heck is L. Isabella? Sounds as though you should take up soaring! Trust me. It's fun

I know there is one in Michigan. And one in California. I'm guessing they mean the latter.

In good weather, there's a lot of parasailing from one of the peaks above Isabella (California), but there were none this Holiday!
As we speak, there are high wind warnings where I live. I can usually see 30-40 miles. Can't see the next main street now! Nasty.
My front porch and the bay where I keep my Jeeps are covered in Fritos bags and tumbleweeds! (Oh, yeah. I'm back up to three Jeeps, again. Will I ever learn???).
