Memorial Day Destinations - Where ya headed?

So, the camping season is officially underway in our household. We made it out overnight to Fort Atkinson, WI just as a quick shakedown run. For Memorial Day, however, we're heading up to Door County, WI for the 3 days. Campfires, local artists galleries, little shops, and lighthouse tours. Gotta love it! Where is everyone else going?

We're planning to go to Tupelo MS.......to see the car museum, go to a drive-in movie nearby (if it's still operating), and visit the boyhood home/museum of Elvis.

We have been wanting to do this for a while.....so when I walked in on my little son the other day while he was in the bathroom and he was singing "You ain't nothing but a hound dog" while holding his hand up like a microphone...that clinched it.

I'm not sure if we are taking the camper or not.

Love Door County. Don't forget the fish boils. Are you staying at Penninsula State Park?

We are doing Memorial Day at our seasonal site in North Central Il. We left the SolAire out there last weekend. When we head out it will just be a matter of extending the slides and turning on the water. On Monday we will tow back home and have the camper ready for our 2 trips in June totalling 15 days.

Sodus Bay off Lake Ontario about 40 miles east of Rochester, NY. This will be our 6 or 7 year with this area being the official start of the season for DW and I. Biking, kayaking, hiking for exercise and fun. Several great waterfront restaurants with huge patios, tikki bars and live music for the entertainment side. Nearby farm market for fresh veggies, baked goods and bread to go along with the grilling. Of course a cooler full of Miller Lite and bottled water and our "wine cellar" under the dinette seat filled with a wonderful selection of whites by day and reds for cooler nights. Can't come soon enough!

We're staying at Egg Harbor. We haven't camped up there before so we just picked one that's centrally located.

Heading to Bruneau Dune State Park in southwest Idaho with the wife and kids. Climbing the dunes, doing some fishing and checking the stars out at the observatory at night.
