I dunno what happened if you are referring to me. I didn’t (on purpose) post that here, but I am in a pretty remote location. That was another a/c thread.

10-4. I was referring to playing with the old unit.

Breaker tripping on a/c startup

I've seen the hard start kits on Amazon. I'm thinking about purchasing one. Hope it solves the problem. Its the initial compressor startup that trips it.

Are the bad Dometic units loosing the coolant or is it a problem in their control boards or circuitry?

New A/C unit was installed. Cold air as expected, 2 years warranty. Kept the old unit for my own experiment and spare part. Hope this will last me a little longer than 3 years.

We just replaced one as well. Looking at the internals of the new one, it looks like Dometic is now crimping and soldering the charge tube. Our old one was just crimped. Hopefully this will last a bit longer.
