New house batteries but no charge???

So new house batteries installed by RV shop. I bought Group27 12v batteries. Brand new. They installed it. Out in rig and no battery and rig plugged in for 2 days, inverter finally came on but once we unplugged the rig, no batteries.

Also discovered they didn't turn on the propane after propane fill.

So where do I turn the batteries on? It looks like it was hooked up right. I even had them install a battery watering system.

Sure hope there isn't a bigger problem.

Have you engaged the "house battery switch"?

It’s usually the largest switch found just inside the door. It’s labled
“BATTERY CONTROL SWITCH”

You should hear the relay click when turned in or off. It is basically a master switch for almost everything that runs on the batteries (12volt)

Is this a new Georgetown?

Is this your first motorhome?

But hey, they should have turned it on right? I'll try to find it when we get home.

Just a note. If the coach is plugged into shore power the light bar in the battery disconnect switch will illuminate whether or not the batteries are connected. To be sure push the top half of the momentary switch. If shore power is not connected the light bar will only illuminate if the batteries are connected. Additionally, if your GT is a typical one the battery condition lights on the control panel should show all 4 lights illuminated when battery test switch is pressed. This is an indication that charging is taking place. When not being charged 3 lights or less will illuminate.

You are kidding, right? Why should they turn it on? That would require thinking and physical effort to do that. But, I am the cynical type.

Being un-cynical, the guy may have thought it was off to start with so left it in the same state.
