non gfci outlets not working

We moved our 2007 Georgetown and when we plugged back in we have 2 outlets in the bedroom not working and 2 in the living room. These are NOT gfci outlets. Any suggestions...

Most RV's have all the outlets daisy-chained from a GFCI. So while they may not LOOK like GFCI, they are protected by one that is. (Your rig is 11 years old, so this MAY not be true for you.)

But I would check the GFCI you do have. Bet it's tripped.

Try resetting all "if more than one" gfci outlets. If there's only one with a reset button, That will have to do. If doesnt reset, it might need to be replaced.

First thing we checked it is just fine. We also checked the power pedestal, and the breakers.

X2. Our 2004 370 is a bit older, but its outlets ARE daisy chained. Easiest gfi to find was located in the front “powder room”. And there usually are more than one.

So, are your outlets all ok too?

Ours is a 2015, one of them was popped on ours. It was under the RV in storage. I don't remember exactly where, but it was not in plain sight.

Two or three storage doors back of the entry door?

Only way to reset and know for sure is to hit the test button and then reset. If that works and the others don't, then you will have to pull the GFI and check the wiring.

I'm going to go another direction... worked before moving... doesn't work after moving... is your rig a 50a service and are you sure the outlet you are plugged into is providing power to both legs of the distribution/breaker box? Are you using any kind of adapter? Do you have a multimeter and know how to use it?

This happend to me when at the KOA in New Bern. The dreaded hair dryer. GFI blew reset it , but still no power. I thought the GFI was fried because that seems to be whay hair dryers do. Replaced it, still nothing. I checked the 50amp breaket but it seemed solid. No blown fuzes or breakers in yhe trailer. Guy at the counter suggested shutting off the breaker, uplug from the stand, replug and flip the breaker on. It worked! Soon as I told him “hair dryer” he knew what it was.

If your Georgetown is wired like my 2011, the AC outlets are probably fed from two circuit breakers. On mine, one feeds the GFCI outlets, the other breaker, all of the others. I'd be surprised if the bedroom outlets in your rig are fed off of one of the GFCI outlets.

Assuming that the dead outlets aren't fed from a GFCI outlet, the most likely cause for some of them to not work is a failure in the daisy chaining. Unfortunately, FR doesn't have any wiring diagrams showing the sequence of wiring the outlets so you'll need to do some detective work to locate the break in the wiring. With power applied, start checking AC outlets and make a map of the working ones and non-working ones. there will be a wire going from one of the working ones to the non-working ones and that's the wire that's not properly connected. It could be disconnected at either end of the wire.

FR uses "push-in" connectors on the outlets because they are very fast (less costly) to wire. It's possible that one of the connectors has corroded and no longer provides a good contact with the wire. This is something I wouldn't be surprised to find in a 10 year old outlet. Vibration and bouncing around, ie "the house in an earthquake" description of an rv, is another reason for these connections to fail.

Sometimes a circuit breaker located on the inverter trips. You might want to check that.

Wish that is true with my Grey Wolf. All of the outlets are tied to the refrigerator except the GFCI. Found out when we turned our NorCold (automatic and cannot choose to run on propane or electric) refrigerator circuit off to run on Propane when Inverter is plugged in.

That sounds like a manufacturing "error."

Are other non GFCI outlets on that circuit working? If you have one GFCI circuit and one other circuit like mine, I have 10 non GFCI outlets tied to the one circuit. All of my slide outlets stopped about a month after we bought it. It sat in the shop 3 weeks for a simple fix. There was a junction box under my dinette seat and inside was where the circuits were tied together. A wire nut popped off the wires feeding my slide. If some of your on the non gfci circuit are working that is something to look at. If you can test all non GFCI outlets and form the path you can narrow down where your junction box is. (if that is your issue)

It is now been 3 days since your first message.
Surely you have found the problem by now.
Let us know what was the problem so we can learn.
Thanks
