Not all gas station awning are labeled

With there height. Would a golf range finder work to tell the awning height?

Somebody on the forum recommended a golf ball retriever, which I bought and is fantastic. Telescoping from a few few long to 15 feet. I'm only 9'7", but if I'm ever in doubt, I whip it out! Good to help judge height of tree limbs, tunnels, overhangs, etc.
