Propane BBQ Grill Connection

I have a 2016 Georgetown GT3 30x3 and there is a BBQ Grill connection next to the outdoor kitchen. I bought a quick connect propane hose that attaches to my portable grill, but when I try to light it, there doesn't seem to be enough pressure to keep it lit.

Has anyone had this trouble?

Typically, that connection on your camper is a low pressure connection. If your grill has a regulator on it, then you will need to remove that regulator. Typically, there are conversion kits available for many types of grills.

An update on getting my BBQ to work as you suggested. I removed the regulator from the grill and found the fittings to adapt the hose...still the same thing, very little flame, even on high. I removed the hose from the BBQ and turned on the shutoff valve at the RV, there's plenty of gas coming out.

Do I have to change the jet diameter in the BBQ?

You should not have to.
Is there an obstruction in the jet?
Has the grille been sitting for long?
If it is a 2 burner grill, do both sides act the same?
Can you try another grill?
What happens when you put the regulator back on an convection another bottle to it?
Strange to say the least.
Keep us informed when you fix the problem.

It sometimes depends on the actual grill. I don't think all will work on low pressure, even with the regulator removed. For example, I had one small tabletop grill that doesn't get nearly enough gas even with the regulator off and another that worked fine. I just tested my new Blackstone griddle today and that works great. Also had a very old 2 burner propane stove that wouldn't get enough gas either without the regulator.
