Propane Furnace

Greetings All,

We are on our second trip in our new 2012 Georgetown 350. It got chilly this morning so I went to turn on the heater. I started the generator to make a pot of coffee. When I turned the heater on the AC unit came on too and the fan started blowing. I do not have the heat pump on my unit. I turned the generator off and the AC went off and the heater stayed on. There are 2 AC units on 2 thermostats. This is happening on the main unit.

There is a recall on the Dometic thermostats and the dealer replaced them for us last week. These are the new ones that aren't supposed to have the thermal shut down "feature".

So, why is the AC unit coming on when 110v power is available?

Thanks in advance.

John

I am just throwing guesses out

they could have mis-wired it

check the thermostat - maybe you had the switch to turn the blower on or the thermostat was turned all the way down below what the tempature was inside

Just had this problem, I'm going to quote the service tech from his work order - removed cover at A/C and found the problem was the signal wire to furnace was broken at the connector, replaced connector and tested furnace, all working properly. Hope this helps you to narrow down a possible cause.

On mine the fan seting on the thermostat has to be set at auto or it will start the AC fan with the heat.

Thanks Falcon, I will try that next. I checked the wiring on the thermostat yesterday but everything looked correct. I will check the fan setting this afternoon.

The rv is going back to the dealer today anyway so if I don't figure it out I will ask them to look at it.

I will report back.

Falcon is the winner. The issue was the Fan was set to Hi, not Au. I feel stupid for not checking that setting.

thanks again Falcon!!

We're all winners because I didn't realise about the fan setting.

Dealer has had this problem before. Thermostat wired wrong. Waiting to get coach back, will see if it has been repaired.
