Purchasing Direct from FR Parts Department

Can you buy parts directly from FR parts department? I have a phone number to the parts department and they will offer me a part number but tell me I have to have my dealer order it.
Is there another number that will sell directly to the end customer?
The number I have is 574-206-7600

Nope...from my experience all parts purchases must go through a Dealer.

Yes, you have to order thru your dealer. We had a 2014 Coachmen toy hauler and ordered parts from the factory several times. We also had a Tiffin product and could order factory direct from them also.

That's not good at all. The dealer closest to me puts me off and doesn't want to work on our unit because we didn't buy from them. He'll take a $% of my money should I need to order a part thru them, not fair at all.

I would think you could buy from any dealer and get the part drop shipped directly to you. Maybe not, but if you buy through a dealer and you are paying the shipping already, not sure why they wouldn't just ship direct to you.

I have purchased straigt from Forest River in the past when I had my 5th wheel.
Things may have changed but I have an email to the parts department asking.
When I get a reply I will post.

I've ordered awnings, J panels, fenders, decals and cabinet doors from from FR Warranty. Not all at once but never through a dealer.

I have ordered parts from the FR parts dept many times and never had a problem, last time about a year ago unless they changed something.

I have ordered direct from suppliers. Do you know the supplier of the part and whether they will allow orders? Most will.

We have a PT 5th wheel and I have purchased parts Right from PT. I am not sure about FR, the number I have is different from the one you listed.

You don't say what kind of part you are looking for.

Some parts can only be shipped to a dealer OR an authorized repair center.
Find a friendly local truck or repair shop and see if their parts department will order it for you.

The first time I called I was looking for the water heater door I had lost. I was told then that the dealer had to order it but he gave me the part number and said it was common to a lot of MH's and I could probably find it online. The second time I called I was looking for some cabinet handles as I couldn't find anything that matched locally. That's when I was reminded that my dealer had to order them. When you call the number I listed a receptionist answers and asks which product line you are looking for. When I tell her a Georgetown MH I am transferred to another department. Could be they just won't sell to MH customers?

Well if you can't order a complete RV direct from the factory, but can order parts from them as some say here reminds me of the old Johnny Cash song about him smuggling parts from the factory where he worked.

I can't remember the songs name, but Johnny smuggled enought parts to make a complete car.

Rear Mudflap Option

Total Value RV, located in Elkhart IN shows the rear Georgetown mud flap available as an option on 2015 Georgetown XL motorhomes for $255. They might take orders and drop ship to buyer rather than to their location.

I just ordered something straight from Primetime but they did tell me the reason they would sell straight to me was the total of the parts were less than $50 and they have a policy to not sell retail to customers for more than that. If it is over that you have to use one of their Dealers. I guess so they are not cutting the Dealers out of their piece of the pie.

This actually isn't an uncommon practice when you think about it. A lot of other Manufacturers operate with similar policies.

I looked into ordering a new door/screen door from the warranty division and was told to see my nearest Columbus dealer.
