Rear A/C Question

The rear A/C plenum on my 2018 GT 31L5 doesn't look right to me. I can pass my hand around the sides of the baffle from the cold air side to the warm air return side. Can this be right?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

picture of the plastic cover does it have some sort of built in divider to funnel the cold air straight out?

OR what model air conditioner have you got ... is it connect to ducts?

never seen anything like your picture... but I'm not a a/c repair guy
certainly if it was my a/c it would NOT look like that

air into the a/c ....... and cold air OUT to the RV
should NOT be able to mix
if it is a dump (no ducts) try to force the cold air sideways away from the intake

I believe it is a Dometic AC. The front AC is also a heat pump and is ducted. This bedroom AC has both cold air and warm air return open to beneath the foam insulation in the ceiling but I don't know if it is meant to be ducted or not.
The plastic cover to the plenum provides no further division between warm and cold.

It's the weirdest thing I've seen - They have the center part of the plenum divided, insulated and aluminum taped but nothing on either side where I can put my hand through.

Tito says to use the white spray foam
Loctite buy it from Homedepot etc

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Loctite-...s&locale=en-US

It won't collapse as much as the yella stuff if you touch it

Use that metal foil tape on ALL joins where foam is not an option
----------------------------------------------------------------------

determining if ducted is easy
on the sides Below the cold air fan outlet you can see some oblong shaped Holes that are the start of any ducts ....

determin

Moved thread from the General Tech and Repair section to the Georgetown sub-forum for better help from other Georgetown owners and possible factory support.

Thanks. I have multiple types of spray foam and loads of HVAC tape. Just wanted to make sure that what I have is an improper installation before I go sealing things up. Thanks!

Hopefully others can confirm before I do so.

One of the first things I do to a new rv is pull the AC interior panels to inspect.....for just what you have found.
Seal that all up nice and you have a better performing ac unit that runs on "low" speed much of the time.

Thanks. Foam board insulation, HVAC tape and 1.5 hours of my labor and it is all properly sealed.

So sad it came from the factory this way. (Another) lesson learned.
