Rear view camera out

The Georgetown has three rear-view cameras, one on each side under the rear view mirrors and one on the back to keep an eye on the Toad, which is the default view. When I make a turn, say left, the left camera view is displayed. After the turn signal re-centers, the camera returns to the rear view. Today I made a right turn, saw the rear view from the right, but the camera never returned to the rear view camera. I tried using the left turn signal, saw the left camera view, but the camera returned to the right camera view. Now I cannot get the rear view camera to work at all. I was always concerned by how long it took to go from the right/left turn view back to the rear view, to see if the Toad made the turn, but now I'm really concerned that I don't have a view of the Toad at all. Before I go to Camping World with this problem I wanted to check with other Georgetown owners to see if they have had a similar problem and how it was fixed. Maybe it has something to do with the turn signal switch on the steering column. Help!

By any chance.....have you compared the 3 camera operation with and without your lighting system on?

There have been reports of camera views malfunctioning do to wiring through the lights on the outside. It almost always gets traced back to a bad ground.

Check again....lights on and lights off.

Rear View Camera

Ah Ha! Found the camera view switch under the display and was able to switch from right to left view but the rear view was all washed out. It's night here now so will wait until tomorrow to see if there is any view at all to the rear when I use the manual switch. Looks like the camera might not be working. Stay tuned.

Rear View Camera

Got up this morning, cycled through the three rear view cameras and all worked fine. The rear view (default) came on just like it should. I took off for Atlanta, changed lanes and after ten seconds the view returned to the rear view. What was the problem? As usual, I don't know. It may be an intermittent problem, like the right channel on the stereo going out ever so often. But that's another thread. Thanks for your help and I hope it doesn't go ballistic on me again.

Not sure what brand of camera system you have, ours is Voyager.

The time delay after switching cameras with turn indicators is adjustable. You have to scroll though the menu using the buttons along the bottom of the monitor.

There are other operations you can change....brightness, volume for backup camera, etc.

Do you have your owners manual?

I have noticed my camera views not working correctly at night when I have the headlights on, but works fine during daytime. I will search the forum for the thread about the ground problem.

I have had mine do that on a few occasions. When I scroll through the views and get back to rear it holds there and works as designed. Good Luck!!

A number of reports have been filed of the cameras not functioning properly when the full lighting system is on. It all ties back to bad grounding. The leads for the turn indicators are usually in the solution. The turn indicators go from just being bright and off during the daytime........ to becoming bright and runnng light during the nighttime.

The side cameras are triggered by the turn indicators. Check the operation of all the lights around the RV both daytime and nighttime.
