Recommendations for awning sun blocker screen

Considering the purchase of a sun blocking/privacy screen to add to my GT5 31L5 awning for beach stays. Wondering if anyone has pro or con experiences to share. Thanks

They work great, besides helping with the sun it can also extend your area a little plus will shed some rain. Before you buy, check out prices real good they are all over the place.

I purchased a Coolaroo Shade Sail at Costco in the spring... then after using it I went and purchased another as a backup... only $28 as I recall. I tried looking it up on the Costco website but it is not listed.

at 13 foot wide and 7 feet it fits my awning perfectly. It has 4 ropes attached to each corner. I tie two corners to the awning bar ends, then if it is windy I can stake down the lower two corners.

It gives shaded privacy, but it is easy to see thru so you are not completely isolated.

Can someone please post a picture of one installed? I received one as part of my recent trailer purchase, but have never used it. It attaches to the groove in the awning roller, right?

I had one sun screen that had a 1/4 inch round piece of flexible plastic sewn into the hem... it was 10 feet wide. One or both ends of the awning will have access to the unused groove in the awning roller. You take the hemmed plastic on the sun screen and insert that into the groove, while pulling on the sun screen fabric to pull the hem into the roller groove. Easiest if done with two people... one to feed the end into the awning and another to pull into the groove. Mine did not roll up with the awning very well because of the difference of 10 foot Vs 13 foot wide awning, so I installed and uninstalled at every stop, which was kind of a pain for me... so I went with the rope-tie one I described in earlier post.

Sorry no picture... I cannot roll out the awning where I am parked.

Mine is on my 21' travel trailer... your motorhome awning should be the same construction

Although not privacy it is a sun blocker. The shade shown stays on the awning when rolled up. A second panel zippers on the bottom and extends to the ground. Shadepro Vista Shade.

X3 on the shadepro vista, it's been outstanding on our Georgetown. The short part rolls up with the awning and we zip the extension in when required. We also have a side panel and can install that on either end when needed.

Got ours off Amazon. Works great. Came with tabs that slide into the awning channel that don't need to be removed. Connects to the shade with metal hooks. Also came with screw in stakes and bungee cords to attach at the ground.

Sunshade

These work great but..... from personal experience I would stay away from a white shade. When the sun is shining on them they appear to "glow" from the inside making it very difficult to see through.

Got mine from Amazon. Look around there because prices are widely varied. The 21 footer I got came with seven holders to attach in the awning groove, but the screen had 20 or so eyelets. Walmart and Amazon both have the Camco holders.

Check out Vista Shades by Shade Pro @ shadepro.net. I saw one on a friend's RV and ordered me one. A screen panel slips into your awning slot that you roll up with the awning. When you need a screen, it has a zipper that you attach to the panel in your awning tube.
