Thanks to all who replied. We just wanted a basic model, although the rvlock looks great. We went with a Bauer through HE Miller. Looks much more substantial and easily fit. So far, so good. Appreciate all of the feedback.

dkwalsh: could you post the exact model number and website for the Bauer lock. When I put in HE Miller, they don't sell RV door locks. I would really appreciate it, if you would do this. Thank You. Roger😃

Sorry Roger 2650. It was HE Mitchell, not Miller. Bauer BP12-RV deadbolt. Says it's for most Class C motorhomes, but we have a Class A and it worked fine.
Here's the link: http://hemitchell.com/catalog/produc...category/2768/

Thank You for the quick responds. I had the lock problem last spring and I feel as though it may happen again. The new lock from Trimark was the exactly the same one as the one that broke. I paid $245.00 for that one, and Trimark was snippy when I called them. It should have been under warranty, but they said it was made in 2014 and out of warranty to them. They will never get my business again.
Thank You again, your information will benefit a lot of people. Roger😃

You are most welcome, Roger. But thanks actually go to the earlier posters who suggested Bauer and someone along the way who suggested HE Mitchell. I totally agree with you on TriMark--they've lost their opportunity with me. Best of luck to you!

Hey buddy I have a 2015 Georgetown 351. And was interested In purchasing the rvlock. I noticed that you have done the install. It appears that it might not be a direct fit. Do you have to trim at all or where there any gaps to fill? Any info helps.

The lock fit fine with no trimming. Just a very, very small area of caulk was needed in one corner to ensure a leak-proof fit. Install was easy and quick.

it didn't show in the video, where there any gaps when you put in the new lock or the opposite did you have to trim away some. also same question for the door striker.

The top right corner you can see just a little white cocking that I had to patch and the striker plate I replaced with the one that came with the lock buy removing the screws and pulling out the old one.

Just one more comment on your video in case you didn't know. Just press the lock button for a couple seconds to lock. No need to put in the code.

I just installed this lock...love it.

replacing door lock

[QUOTEh=mack1roc;1698806]Hey buddy I have a 2015 Georgetown 351. And was interested In purchasing the rvlock. I noticed that you have done the install. It appears that it might not be a direct fit. Do you have to trim at all or where there any gaps to fill? Any info helps.[/QUOTE]

As I mentioned, I had to trim the door to allow the lugs on the lock to extend far enough into the striker plate. The plate for the lock overlaps enough so that there are no holes showing. A further problem ( for my FR3 installation) was that the new lock lugs did not fit the striker plate. On my unit there is no practical way to get at the striker plate. Fortunately the lugs are threaded so I just replaced them with narrower diameter bolts I bought at Lowes. I used thread sealer to keep them in place. Hope this helps.
