I just did this as well. Not only does it control my furnace much better, not overshooting with more heat than is necessary, but also has some neat added features like Bluetooth (no need to run to T-Stat to adjust if within BT range) and WIFI so one can check temps if connected to park wifi and away from camp.
Yes, pricey, but definitely worth it.
BTW, most models have the ability to attach an external sensor. Nice feature if the T-Stat is mounted in an area that is isolated from where one lives/sleeps.
