Doesn't look like it to me. Have you tried cleaning it with a regular car body cleaner/wax?
Cheers,
Wayne

That just looks like staining from neglect and exposure. I agree with the fellow above, I would grab a mild polish and you can hand rub that or use a DA/orbital to quickly buff that staining off and restore the luster underneath.

You can hit a Wallmart or parts store and grab Meguiars G19216 "Ultimate Polish" for around $10 - $12 and and you should get through that in short order. After you do the polish you will want to apply a sealant, there are plenty of super easy to use spray sealants on the market now that include Turtle Wax ICE, Meguiars G190526 Hybrid Ceramic $21,99 for the large 32 oz ( https://www.amazon.com/Meguiars-G190.../dp/B06WVQ6MVR ), Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic 53409 for $15.99 for 16oz ( https://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Wax-53...EERGZR1T8RP4GP )

You have options.....

That is a well known failure of the protective film. Mine wasn’t that bad. I buffed mine out and then waxed it. Looks almost perfect, but years of dead bugs have eaten into the film. There are some you tube videos on cleaning it and/or removing the film. Removing it is time consuming, but ultimately the best way to go.

This pic is from last year when we bought it. Not sure if you can see it, but the bugs have etched the film.

I just had the film removed. Looks like a different coach. Prior to that I tried rubbing compound, cleaners, orange gels and after several months and hours decided to remove it. Should have done it earlier

I attempted following the suggestions from several youtube videos. Then went to a shop had them do it, cost me about 500.

check out this video.

I removed mine without a steamer. Temperature was around 90 deg. The trick is to pull on the film laterally. This allows the adhesive to release from the paint. If not, you will leave a lot of adhesive on the paint. Requires a lot of elbow grease to remove that adhesive.

Do you have a label on your rig that says “Diamond Shield” or similar?
I’ll bet you only have this problem on the front of your rig.

Sorry for the delay when we bought it the dealer had this done - they mention it runs between 300 to $500 dollars - also Lynx coating is another option
