RV Door Lock

Late last night, I went outside, when return, I could not open the door. Luckily, my wife still in the RV and she was able to open the door for me from the inside. Early this morning, I open up the lock and found a broken piece of white plastic interfered with the outside pull lever, but works fine with the inside lever. After removing the broken white piece of plastic, both lever now working fine. However, the piece of white plastic should be holding a certain function of the lock but now it not there anymore. Even though the door is working fine now, I certainly do not want to find out it will give me a problem in the near future while on a trip. For that, I need to buy a replacement.

Since I will be replacing the lock would cost me about $110 buck, I may well go ahead and replace it with the Keyless RVLock that may cost about twice as much and hope that it is more reliable than the Trimark that I currently have.

The question here is:
1 - Would you recommend the Keyless RVLock?
2 - What model should I get that would be a direct replacement for my 2016 Georgetown?

Thank in advance.

I'm very happy with RVLock. Sometimes they have big discounts around holidays but not sure you want to wait that long.

rvlocksandmore.com

I've used rvlocksandmore.com to order replacement entry locks keyed to whatever I want. They have very secure 900 series, which is a NON mastered cylinder that no master key on the market will be able to open. You will be issued a Serial number with your lock and key code. They only sell extra keys for these locks to those with a serial number. These range in price from $35 - $60 and are very simple to install.

Good luck!

My experience...

This thread has my experience and solution to the Trimark lock issue:

I haven't had any problems since, but my local dealer has the newer iteration of this lock for under $100.

Thank everyone,

After viewing your comment and advice, I think that the Trimark lock has a new "updated" design now and may fix the common "white plastic breakdown" issue. I went ahead to order the newer version from Amazon... instead of go for the more expensive RVLock model.

The "Trimark Entrance Door Lock, Black 060-1650" is a redesign of the older model "060-0650".
