Second outside shower...

Donít know if any of you are disappointed in the accessibility of your outside shower, but I used the one on my previous coach a lot as it was very convenient. I mostly cook outside and use the shower for cleanup and outside water needs as well as rinsing my head after dusty ATV rides. The one on my í16 270 is nearly unusable for these tasks as itís on the wrong side of the coach (left) and almost unreachable under the extended slide-out.

I decided to add another one and used the compartment the water heater is in as itís on the right side and the water lines were already in the compartment. Once you remove the baffle for the ďArctic PackĒ, the compartment itself is actually quite viable and underused with considerable space on the right side of the water heater. (I donít camp in freezing weather and donít need the ďArctic PackĒ, though I intend to keep the baffles for both the water heater and fresh water tank compartments.) Doing this also gave me an opportunity to tidy up and secure the wiring and plumbing around the water heater. The isolation and bypass valves are still very accessible. Yes, itís one more item to winterize, but itís easily done with the rest of the system. Overall it works well and I feel it was a worthwhile modification for me.

Good luck everyone. - Mark

Nice! Thanks for sharing the mod. I have a different unit than you but a similar issue. My previous camper had an outdoor kitchen. Often I want quick access to hot or cold water and it's a pain to walk around to the other side, open the door, etc. I'll see how I can incorporate this idea on my unit. Thanks again.

Great idea and nice work. While running romex for my inverter I noticed I have a hot and cold stub near the area you are talking about. I assumed it may have been installed at the factory in case an outside kitchen was installed. Been tempted to do something similar......

Second outside shower...

Those look like your low point drains. No reason you couldnít tie into them above the caps. Just be sure you leave them as drains as well, in case you need them. [emoji846]

Not my low point drains. The low point drains are located right by water heater and fresh water tank.

I have a 2017 270 - would love to compare notes, I fixed over 70 warranty issues myself - my10539isok PM me. MY outside shower is fine (after 3 parts replacements). From your pic, it seems more difficult than mine. Is the 16 the same as my 17? Why would you make it harder? I use the heater are for sewer line & misc storage. FYI, I changed the water filter to an off the shelf unit from Lowes. I don't use the filter except on long vacations.
