Shore Power not turning coach on

Hey Everybody it's been a while and we are finally taking the RV out again and I haven't plugged it in for the last 8 month which is when we got the DTV satellite installed.

When I plug it into a working 50amp switch at home the main switch in the RV doesn't come on automatically like I remember it used to!

Is there a breaker switch I should check? Or what could it be.

The house batteries had very little drain which is impressive!

I believe there was a recall on certain transfer switches yours may fall under that category.
Hopefully someone with more knowledge can help.

Are you running your generator, if your generator is running the transfer switch will be engaged to it and not shore power. The transfer switch should disengage when you turn off generator.

No not running the generator.

Could this be a fuse or a breaker?

Where are the breaker switch?

Do you have power when using generator?
Have you verified power @ shore power outlet?

Yes for both.

So it's down to when plugged into the shore with my cords that worked before it's not switching on.

Ok so I'd be looking at the transfer switch.
And as I said before there was a recall on certain transfer switches.
If your generator gives you power then there is no breaker to check.
If gennie power can get in then so should shore power.
Once power goes through the transfer switch it's the same line if your on shore power or gennie.

Sounds to me the transfer switch isn't working.

Ok, thank you for your help.

I left Georgetown a message to check on the recall and hope we figure it out soon.

i do not have a Georgetown but the transfer switch on our CC only engages when the generator is running, this would lead me to think that it is in generator mode. You might hit the transfer box with you hand and see if it releases it might just be stuck to the engaged side.

I think you guys are right that it's looking like the transfer switch has an issue. I'm waiting for forestriver to call me and then I may take it to the local RV place.

How expensive is that to fix. I have warranty but I had some challenges with my mobile RV guy fixing stuff then other things mysteriously breaking shortly after. He charges the warranty company a ton of money which they only pay for 75% so I'm always stuck with a big bill after.

A new 50 amp transfer switch should be between $125 and $150 plus install.
Why wait for Forest River to call. It is out of warranty as you have a 2008 Georgetown.
Dealer will figure it out and replace under your $$$'s

Here is what was installed in mine after the OEM switch failed.

Thanks Iggy, but you helped me fix the issue on the other post. It turned out that the electricians forgot to add the neutral line to the 4 prong 50amp outlet.
