Side cameras

After the last rain my side cameras are foggy. Looked at lens and can see moisture. Any info anyone can provide about how to clear it up or remove lens? Thanks

Here's a picture from my 2012 GT378. The outside cover over the camera pops off and the camera is easily removed. The lens unscrews from the body.

Thanks Bubbles for the information. I didn't know that.

Did you have to replace the camera or clean the lens?
Is that the reason you had to remove.

Thanks

The large cover that may be painted the same color as the rig pops off.
Then you will se the camera attached by a small strap that can be unscrewed for removal.
Hope this helps without pictures.

Thanks so the only thing holding the unit to the outside of the motor home is caulk? Just asking before I try to pop it of.
If the lens has moisture on it can I just open the camera and dry it or is the camera unit sealed and I need to purchase a new one? Thanks as always for your in sight. .

I bought 2 cameras to replace the ones I had that kept fogging up and water condensing behind the lens. I don't have the issue any more. The video is clear

What replacements did you get? The same as what was original?

Where did you find the replacements and how much?

Thanks!

You can buy them from the manufacturer. A little pricy though. $85 each.
I had one replaced under warranty and bought the other.
I am sure if you look you can buy one on eBay or Amazon but you may need to splice the wires but a whole lot cheaper. I have seen them on eBay for around $15 each. Just search "12 volt side camera". If you do buy them on eBay just attach them to your coach, then order a can of automotive spray paint that is your color of paint and spray them before you attach them, also about $15.
The original cameras must have been cheap polycarbonate lenses but the new ones look and feel like glass.
My unit is a 2013 378XL.
If you would like the manufacturer phone number or tips on what type of camera just let me know.

On my 2012 GT378 the camera lens end is protected by a screw on shroud that has 1 or 2 clear plastic lenses with a spacer to keep them in place from the actual camera lens (body). The camera cannot be opened but the protective shroud with the plastic lens can be unscrewed from the camera body. There is an "O" ring for a moisture barrier and that can be replaced. Because the camera is a sealed unit the moisture does not enter the camera but can get between the plastic lens and the camera body which can be resealed with a new "O" ring, sometimes.

I had same problem recently , on my Georgetown u can remove camera from outside , pry off cover carefully with small flat head , camera lense separated by unscrewing front of camera , I actually cut my own lense from a clear soft plastic I had on my office desk (blotter ) works great . And cost nothing , good luck

Ours fogged up too. Just one side camera. Our coach is an 09, and there are different styles out there. Hunted ours down. Ordered the camera only and put the original cover back on. No painting needed. Very simple fix.
