Slide plate dimensions

Can anyone that has received slide plate from FR tell me what the thickness of the metal is?

Thanks,

John

Thank You! I am sourcing plates from a local steel supplier, since Forest River has been less than useless in helping with this problem.

I'm pretty sure they're stainless steel.

If you are interested i have 4 that i can ship you if you want to pick up the postage. They sent me 8 for my 8 rollers and i was able to cut them in half and only use 4. Each plate is 48 inches. I can cut them down for you too if you would like. I dont mind as i got them at no cost. Pm me for my cell if you can use them.

That is a very kind and generous offer! Sadly, our slide dimensions are different and I would need at 6 plates of a minimum of 30"

Thank you again for the offer.

Well, he could get you four plates that are 48" long so all you'd need is two more. And he can cut those four to whatever length you need and they should be pre-drilled and countersunk already.

You could then use one of the FR plates as a pattern for the other two.

Just a thought,

Ray

Yes, I thought of that. But, I have a wholesale steel distributor around the corner, I suspect shipping would be close to my cost of the raw material. Thank you for the thought!

One more question for you - what length of fastener did FR provide or recommend to secure the plates to the under side of the slide?

Thank you,

John

Here are the docs they sent me, should help you with the install. My screw heads were a little larger so they were not flush. I came back with a die grinder and ground them down flush. You could use a dremel too.

One person noted something very important: DO NOT have the slide run all the way out when lifting the edge. If you do, it will crunch the inside trim against the interior wall.

I installed stainless plate on my Landmark as well. Bought at Metal Supermarkets, they are nation-wide in Canada and US. I did seal them with black silicone in my case and drilled holes, used SS panhead screws to hold in place.

I had them sheared wide enough so I did not have faster interference. 16 gauge stainless.
