So long Georgetown

Well folks, I traded my Georgetown for a Allegro Open Road 36LA. I have enjoyed the forum and all the advice and experiences posted by all the members. Especially you Iggy. I enjoyed my Georgetown, even with its problems. My new Allegro has everything my Georgetown did not, and I love it already. Of course I don't expect it to be troublefree either, cause this ain't my first rodeo. LOL.

Happy Trails All, Forrest

Wish you the best with your new motorhome.
Safe driving and have fun.

Best wishes with Thebes MH. You can still stay on the forums and post as you will be able to help others and keep up with old friends.

Actually, only $27,000 more than the Georgetown. $103,000 for the Georgetown new, and 130,00 for the Allegro.

I seriously doubt the GT price you paid in 2011 is relevant today. I paid $101k for my fully loaded 364 TSF (F stands for full body paint, a $12,000 option). Yes it is a model despite some members protestations.

I would say the real price difference is about 40k. The other reality is that your 2011 may not compare to a 2016 because of the constant upgrading to base models. It's a constant game of one up man ship between vendors.

I have heard a lot about the allegro and looked at a few YouTube tours. It is a really nice product but I also saw a few thinks the 2016 GTs have that it does not, a French door fridge for example.

I am sure we could go tit for tat but I agree it is a better equipped coach. What I am trying to say is that you got a nicer Coach but you paid for it.

I feel like a got the best value for my money. As to quality? They are all the same, I have no illusions.

I will close by saying that my intent is not to denigrate your choice in ANY way. I just get a little bent out of shape when people say they got a better coach but don't take into account the current state of the market, or admit that they paid a lot of money to upgrade.

It's just an unfair comparison.

I congratulate on your new purchase, everything I've seen about it is beautiful. Enjoy!
