The on/off switch completes the ground connection and most likely they grounded the wire off the control board. The problem is the installer the previous owner used installed the control board behind the grill and I can not get to it without removing the grill. I decided to put a fused switch on the power wire at the battery. When not needed I disconnect power to it. Maybe someday I will have the energy to dig into it more and correct it but for now it works fine that way  |
