Sumo Springs rear will not fit 2014 335DS

The rear spring upper brackets will not fit per instructions because of interference from vertical column which is welded 3' over frame. See photo. (I don't think the shield to the left of the column is a problem).

I've read this is a problem in some 2013-14s because of the location of the column.

Has anyone made a modification or otherwise found an alternative way of fitting rear sumos under these circumstances? I have emailed this question to Supersprings and will post their response when received.

Mine were installed by the previous owner. They cut it to fit around the bracket, and then welded the spring bracket to the chassis bracket. It will fit but takes a bit more work!

Thanks. Super Springs responded to my email with confirmation that the SSR-187-54-1 would not work based on the column location. They suggested the solo spring SSR-186-54 as an alternative. I am considering that and the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System TFRF53A.
