The hump is the engine cover on the inside of the cab....FR, decided that rather than putting a nice console there for your drinks on the road, phone, change etc.....they did not put anything there and I am wondering if anyone found something elegant to put there store bought or was having something made the way to go?

I just built a box with a couple of cup holders. Good place to store cell phones, chargers and other junk!

It would have been nice to have something there for storage. I guess it makes easier to get in and out of the seats though.

I agree. There is plenty of room on the left side of drivers seat floor to put something for storage. Not as convenient as a center console, but better than nothing and out of the way.

I use an open plastic bin for misc stuff to my left on the floor. Being tall and long legged I need to keep the hump area clear. Its a tight squeez getting in and out.

Short people
I suppose the engineers had you in mind when leaving that space blank but at 5'5" and 5'4", inches, my wife and I don't have much of a struggle getting in and out and would like something there for cups, phones CD's etc....still looking though perhaps we will find a carpenter and have something made.

Here is what I have on my 2012 378TS XL version
Below the leveler control panel is a compartment.
Not sure if you can see it clearly in this picture.
I also included my center hump cup holder and storage.

Perhaps I am giving the wrong impression of the George Town hump as I refer to it, I am speaking of putting something on the removal engine compartment cover right under the radio.....of course the cup holder you picture on the left and right where doors would normally be would be nice if I could get those.

I understood it WDK, our is exactly like yours. Initially I thought the same thing, why not a console to hold all sort of things. Glad I didn't get anything because we walk on that area a lot and it's easier to get out of the seat. Instead, you have lots of room to the left of the driver's seat to install just about anything. One thing that could have been nicer is the really crappy cup holder. DW's got busted off the second trip. I like how some of the other FRs have nice custom ones.
On another note, have you noticed how flimsy the lower left end of the center console is. It needs a bracket. Haven't done it yet, but it's on the list.

WDK, go back to Iggy;s photo, that is a factory part with two cup holders and tray, I have a 2011 360 and I have the same tray, you should be able to get one from FR, be expensive but should have it.

We had the console with cup holder in our old GT and hated it. Drinks were always getting knocked over.
Would much rather have a nicer drink holder on the driver and passenger arm rest than the ones we have but at least I haven't knocked a drink out of it yet.

Center console
Iggy, was that center console with the two cup holders and small tray a factory install.....we were looking for something exactly like that. Is there a part number or is that one molded piece. Outside of that we were looking to have two side consoles built on either side of the drivers and passengers seat towards the wall.

Ya I have the same set up. Its good enough for drinks and some small items. But now adays with all the junk we seem to need like two cell phones and two tablets and a 7 inch gps a larger consule would be nice. But I a lready have an awkward manuever climbing in and out. My plastic bin on the floor to my left holds a bunch of stuff.

That set up in the XL will do me just fine. It's pleasing to the eye and I want the wooden cup holders for the drivers and passengers side.....trouble is, I can't find them. Forest River does not have a direct line to their accessories department.....can anyone help there?
