Using water during drive?

I have a georgetown 351... How do u use the water as u are driving?
I've tried the water pump... Seems to work with the generator, does it work without the genny?

Also, with dish network satellite... Do u plug into the back, storage Area of the RV, and then plug in the dish box to the front of the RV in the cabinet? And can you view dish on all of the TVs or only one TV?

Unless you are on shore power the water pump will only work with the generator running. So if you need to use water while driving you will need to run the generator.

My water pump and yours should be 12v, it works without the Genny being on or Shore power, as long as the WP switch is in the on position and there is water in the fresh tank.

Yes, if you put the Dish antenna in the connection in the back, and hook the receiver to the splitter, you can watch dish on All the TV's, but it will be the same programming at once (all the TV's will show the same thing).

How old is your 351?

the Pump would be powered by the House batteries, under the steps or in the 1st storage compartment, depending on how yours is configured. I would get them checked by a mechanic to see if they are putting out the right amount of voltage.

We just put a few gallon jugs of water in the bathroom to fill and flush the toilet while en route. Not sure what else we would use water for, other than dishes, but we try to use disposable plates for our travel meals. We do keep cold water in the fridge for drinking.

How do you wash your hands after you flush? Seems like it would be a lot easier to put 5-10 gallons of water in the onboard fresh water storage.

Agree. Battery disconnect on a new 351 is down low on the left as you come in the entry door.

If it is the battery switch, you would also not have interior lights, correct? and how does the battery switch affect the inverter, or is it wired directly to the Battery terminals, bypassing the swtich?

Surely one of the greatest motorhome benefits IMO. So convenient to use the "facilities" including washing up. Also easy to even make a quick snack for DH and I while we ramble on. Also very nice to have some fresh water in the tank when stuck in gridlock.

In our 351 I always fill some water from home in the fresh water tank before each trip. I leave water pump switched on during travel. This lets fridge make ice while rolling. Another great advantage that I didn't think of when we moved up to class A from TT is I don't stop till I need to take a break now. DW and DK go potty, wash hands and get drinks as needed or wanted.

No more "I got to potty" and having to pull over every 30 minutes!

Also have plenty of ice for a cold drink once set up at destination!

Happy travels!

1. We do carry water in the FW tank.
2. While traveling, we use Wet Ones and hand sanitizer. Our kitchen sink holds out knife block in one side and the drainer w/ sponges in the other. Turning on the water in the bathroom could get quite splashy driving down some of the roads here in AZ. Besides, we don't keep the water heater running while driving and cold water doesn't do much to kill germs.
3. Our 7 year-old granddaughter has trouble with the single pedal to both fill and flush while hooked up, much easier to fill it for her and then hand her a Wet One after she flushes.

I think the water question has been thoroughly discussed.
Your DISH question-With our mobile King Dome, both TVs can watch different programs, but they have to be on the same satellite, and the satellite selection is done by the main TV. You will learn what programs come from what satellites, over time. When I am watching in the bedroom, and hear the "ugh" of the DISH moving, I know I am losing my program.

I don't have a Georgetown but, I thought water pumps were 12VDC which would always run off a battery that had a charge.

The switch for the Battery Disconnect / Connect at the stairs, by the door are "on"... so that is not the issue. I have water, 1/4 tank or so, but it won't work unless shore power or Genny are on.
Thanks for the responses. Hopefully I can get the Satellite to work this weekend.

Sounds like you need a visit to the repair shop for the water pump issue.
Good luck on the satellite.

Have you checked the inline fuse at the water pump?
You can also run a hot wire to the pump and see if it work there.
